Honda BR-V launch on May 5, bookings open for INR 21, 000

The Honda BR-V is an eagerly awaited launch this year and this 7 seater compact SUV is all set to redefine the segment in the country. You can now easily check on road price of Honda BR-V Delhi when it is launched on IBB. Prices of the Honda BR-V are likely to start at INR 9 lakhs or a little less though there are reports of Honda pricing the car really aggressively. The BR-V may also share its engine with the Honda City as per sources.
The BR-V was shown at the 2016 Auto Expo and garnered huge attention from visitors and Honda loyalists. Bookings for the BR-V have already started for a token amount of INR 21, 000 across all Honda dealerships in the country. The BR-V will be launched on the 5th of May and there is huge speculation regarding the final On Road Price of Honda BR-V and features of the car. The new BR-V is likely to come with 1.5 litre i-VTEC four cylinder petrol and 1.5 litre diesel i-DTEC four cylinder engines. The former makes 120 PS and 145 Nm while the latter makes 200 Nm and 100 PS. There will be a 6 speed manual transmission unit while a CVT automatic option could be offered for the petrol version complete with paddle shifters like the brand new Honda Jazz.

Fuel economy could hover around the 25 kmpl mark for the diesel engine and this should be a class leading feature indeed. The BR-V will be able to seat 7 passengers comfortable in its three rows and this will give it a huge advantage over its competitors in the compact SUV space. The BR-V measures 4, 456 mm in terms of length and 1, 666 mm in terms of height. Ground clearance stands at around 201 mm for the car.
The top end model will come with features like rear air conditioning vents, automatic climate control, multi-function steering wheel, air quality control, anti-lock braking system, dual front and side airbags, anti-theft alarm, rear camera, parking sensors, audio video navigation system with a touch screen interface, keyless entry, Bluetooth connectivity, push button start and attractive alloy wheels among others. Honda is banking on the truckloads of features and attractive and rugged styling to draw in Indian customers. The BR-V’s launch is eagerly anticipated by several prospective buyers since it is poised to offer a competitively priced, feature packed, attractive and spacious option in the compact SUV space.
Competitors like the Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster will lose out since they can seat five passengers while the BR-V can seat seven passengers. In terms of features and fuel economy, Honda is definitely targeting segment leading attractions for customers. The Mahindra TUV300 and Mahindra NuvoSport will both be serious rivals for the BR-V since these offer 5+2 seating options coupled with near similar features. It remains to be seen how Honda prices the BR-V. Pricing the car right will mean an automatic success story for Honda in this segment.
